Check out our CES 2019 coverage! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZEIwIHCxaFWx-I3KSJo8XKh2JkzWhvZF

The “new” Skully Fenix AR smart motorcycle helmets feature pretty much all the tech from the original version, including the centerpiece 180-degree rear-view camera, a small full-time HUD display under the right eye, and the typical spread of expected smart helmet conveniences: music playback, phone ops, navigation and so on. It’s due out this summer.

I was so excited to order my helmet although I was a little gun shy due to all the post I had come across I ordered anyways. I ordered my helmet in November, I was told it would be shipped out In December I never heard anything so I sent them an email asking about my tracking information then I was informed it would be shipped out at the end of January still nothing. I emailed again asking about the product never heard from them again. One day us riders will find a company that will produce a helmet like this and it's a legit company. If for some reason I receive my hemet I will be the first to let all of you know. As far as I'M concerned these people are no different then the old owners BE AWARE.

The same skully that misused indigogo backer funds, charged with fraud, and filed for bankruptcy? Oh wait! Now I remember! Yeah it’s THAT Skully.

If this helmet is DOT and SNELL approved it’s a great idea!

I've been with the original owner/creator of skully he was a arrogant bro that had spent daddy's money on being a "boss". Now look at him now….i hope they bought it on the cheap. Thank goodness for these new guys who are not robbing Peter to pay Paul like the original guy who scammed people and acted like a wad of cocks

I’m an original backer of the indigogo campaign.
I am now a make it right recipient.
My helmet is now on the way will be
Here in September I will post my 1st you tube video on it . I paid 1.500 for mine. Now it’s 1.800 so we will see.
I know the company will be really successful after all the review videos come out from people who get their helmets

From this review, it appears the Skully owners (at least, the original ones) were as much scam artists as innovators. Sadly, happens all the time. 'Buyer beware'.

Skully made an unsafe and I feel it was a lie to begin with. I did a video on it, called "Comparing Heads Up Display Motorcycle Helmets" on my channel. Why would I spend money on a unsafe and dangerous helmet, that is not what a motorcycle rider needs when riding, with a video cube, or for that matter, a prism to distract from the road, by constantly looking at it, or even glancing at it, is just about as worse at being distracted when it comes to driving a car.

The concept is dangerous and unsafe, and if you want to see what a better way to have a HUD helmet is, check out the LiveMap helmet.

I will be following this brand very closely… The day I get my S1000RR is the day I get a Skully. It will make my semi annual 4000KM road trips so much more enjoyable 🙂

OK I've been watching a few of these "smart helmet" vids and so far I haven't seen one that shows your current speed. Seems like a pretty obvious thing to leave out… I'm leaving this here so hopefully the manufactures will pick it up. Not that i'm going to lay down $2k for a helmet but as things go they should be reasonable in a few years.

Cool of them to do it for indegogo contributors (after the old CEO and his brother blew it on cocaine, strippers and a ferrari). I almost bought one myself (so glad i did not). My friend was one of the first contributors and he actually received his AR1 even though it broke after 4 months… The experience wasn't the best to say the least. It did not really support half the features they mentioned, had ton of bugs, and I found him yelling "hey skully" for 10 minutes before it would respond. Not to mention if the app were to turn off for any reason your would just have a super heavy $1500 helmet on your head and we dont even really know if it was really DOT certified (since the helmet had a very cheap look a feel if you saw it in person). Now this new "innovation" here again but instead of 1500 it's now over 2 grand after taxes i personally think that's insane as some decent used bikes cost that much. Maybe if it was $1200 and carbon fiber $1500 i could see it but $2000 is just crazy.

Can't wait, any great product that keeps you safer on two wheels is worth the money. Especially for those of us in major cities.

Good on them for making the right choice. The original owners have some bad karma coming
